When TPCS approached The Curtis Group about a Capital Campaign, we first performed a feasibility study. That led us to determine – and their leadership agreed – that the organization was not yet ready for a major campaign.
For one thing, TPCS was challenged by very low awareness. Those who did know of it thought it was entirely church supported. So we advised its executive director, a clinician with little experience promoting TPCS outside the church community, to become more active in the general community and help key potential donors get to know the organization.
TPCS also followed our guidance to enhance its board with business leaders, create a branded brochure and newsletter, and build its donor base. As a result, TPCS has established a successful major-gifts program and is raising its awareness throughout the region.

“I am tremendously pleased with the success we’ve had from working with The Curtis Group. They helped give us a better understanding of the philanthropic community and market ourselves to create a dialogue with people who might be interested in our program. Thanks to their team’s resources and professionalism, we’ve had huge success in our fundraising efforts and have generated nearly six times the amount of contributions that we brought in last year.”
