Attucks Theatre Chooses The Curtis Group

The board of directors for Crispus Attucks Cultural Center (CACC), which operates the historic Attucks Theatre in Norfolk, has chosen The Curtis Group to conduct a Fundraising Feasibility Study.

The landmark theatre, which opened in 1919, was renovated and reopened in 2004. Today it is recognized as the nation’s oldest remaining theatre that was fully financed, designed, constructed, and operated by African Americans. It was named for Crispus Attucks, an African American who was the first person to die in the Revolutionary War.

Along with operating the 624-seat theatre, CACC also provides year-round educational and multicultural programs and classes for students and adults.
