Client Successes Prove Donors Are Still Giving
Posted September 03, 2009 by Wesley Stanley.
For months, we’ve been preaching that fundraising in a challenging economy can be successful if it’s done right. Here are three good examples that prove it.
Bedford Hospice House has reached its $1.6 million goal and will break ground on a much-needed hospice facility in Bedford, Virginia, later this year. Lackey Free Clinic of Yorktown has exceeded its $1.5 million minimum goal for its Capital and Endowment Campaign, with more than a third of that amount raised since last October. And in February, the board of Schooner Virginia launched a major campaign with a minimum goal of $1.2 million to match a challenge grant. By August, more than $800,000 had already been raised, putting the campaign well ahead of schedule.
After seeing each of these three clients through a Feasibility Study, we served as their campaign counsel. By opting to follow our guidance, two have achieved their goals and the third is well on its way. We’re very proud of that.

Congratulations! I work for a non profit and we too have met our fund raising goals for 2009. It is difficult to be sure but with a good plan it can be done. The generosity of the American people and companies is alive and well.
